Nestled in the Swiss Alps, Edelweiss Resorts is a luxury hospitality brand that prides itself on immersive alpine experiences. When they partnered with Sonder, they wanted a digital transformation that mirrored their in-person promise: timeless elegance combined with world-class service. Their existing website was outdated, static, and failed to capture the breathtaking beauty of their environment or the sophistication of their hospitality.
Challenges
The major challenge was storytelling—how to communicate the experience of staying at Edelweiss Resorts through digital design. Luxury hospitality relies heavily on emotions, yet the brand’s existing visuals lacked warmth and depth. Another hurdle was technical: the website needed to integrate seamless booking systems while maintaining a visually rich, fast, and responsive experience across devices. Balancing aesthetics and functionality was critical to success.
Solutions
We approached the project as a narrative journey. The website was designed to immerse visitors in a digital “arrival experience,” with sweeping photography, cinematic transitions, and carefully curated typography that reflected Swiss refinement. The booking system was reimagined as a natural part of the journey, integrated directly into the flow without breaking immersion. The branding was updated to emphasize sophistication—drawing on muted palettes, gold accents, and refined layouts that highlighted Edelweiss’ alpine identity.
Outcomes
The redesigned website brought Edelweiss Resorts’ brand story to life in a way that resonated with both loyal patrons and new audiences. Online bookings increased substantially, with users praising the intuitive flow and seamless experience. The project received recognition from design circles for its ability to merge storytelling and functionality, positioning Edelweiss as not only a luxury resort but also a leader in digital hospitality experiences.
